Random Phrases I hear at work

So I love my job, and I spend the majority of my day listening to my patients and their awesome stories and their concerns. I hear some funny things everyday and I thought I might share some.

Patient "you're my favorite torturer"

Me: "so can we try another activity with you"
Patient: "Activity? no I am very active in the church thank you"

Me: Hi I am Julie
Patient: "JEW??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?"
Me: "No, "Julie"
Patient: "Judy???"
Me: No sorry its "JUUULLIE"
Patient: "Oh no I have enough jewelry"

Me: "So I would like to practice standing on one leg so you can be strong enough to get in and out of the bathtub"
Patient: Oh no I am fine I just go out the front door instead, You don't have to worry about me.
Me: "Well I understand you can get in and out of your house fine, I am just concerned about the bathtub"
Patient"No I never use the back door" (it took another two minutes to finally get my point across)

" I'm sorry what did you want me to do again?" - This is after I have demonstrated the exercise about 5 times.

Random out burst of song " THINK POSITIVE AND NOT NEGATIVE AND NOTHING IN BETWEEN"

Number one excuse- "I know I can't do that now, but once I get home I'll be able to do it".... This is a patient trying to get out of doing something.

Well I hope some of these made you laugh I'll try and post some more when I hear them!

Here are some more random Photos

The Beginning

So I have finally decided its time to start a blog. Why you ask? A few reasons; one I am done with school and actually have a life, now that I don't have homework. Two my husband is still in school and I would drive him nuts if I don't have something to do, and let Josh do his homework! Three.... Everyone else is doing it? And last but not least I can keep record of our family adventures. I like that reason the most!

Josh and I have been married for almost a year and a half. We dated for a year and a half too. We were married on Aug 14, 2009. Since then we have moved 5 times... Yes 5. I'll leave that story for another post.

A little about my wonderful husband Josh, he is a very studious man, and works very hard. He works at the MTC teaching the English speaking missionaries, he works at a Lab at BYU studying HIV (its a lot more specified than that but if you want the five minute explanation you'll have to ask him.) He is also busy with his last two semesters at BYU he's majoring in Exercise Science and a double minor in Chemistry and Music. And on top of all that He is very involved in applying to medical school. Our hope is that he gets in to Duke University. We wont know until March if we got in!

As for me I am graduated and just working like crazy. I have a degree in Physical Therapy Assisting. It is weird being done with school, I keep thinking I have homework. I love knowing that I get to wake up everyday and do what I love. I work at Aspen Ridge, its a skilled nursing facility. People go there after they have had an injury or surgery that prevents them from being able to care for themselves. I generally work with the elderly population which keeps me on my toes. I get to hear some of their past and they have some of the most amazing stories.

So I don't have too many recent photos uploaded but I figure It would be wise to start our blog with photos that are some of my favorite memories.
